Porch Wicker Furniture
Additional Information
The Porch Wicker furniture collection is made of rattan frames and is hand woven out of rattan core.
Rattan is yielding and durable, thus making it an excellent material for use in the construction of
furniture. Due to its flexibility and strength, it is in many ways more durable than wood.
Wicker & Materials

Wicker is a hard woven fiber formed into a rigid material, usually used for baskets or furniture. Wicker is
often made of material of natural fibers, but plastic fibers are also used.

A frame is made of stiffer materials, after which more pliant material is used to fill in the frame. Wicker is
light yet sturdy, making it suitable for furniture that will be moved often. It is often used for porch and
patio furniture.

There are two types of wicker furniture available—natural and synthetic. Natural wicker is made from
rattan vine and is well-known for its strength and durability. Natural wicker is unsurpassed for beauty
and comfort.  Synthetic types include paper-wrapped high tensile wire and plastic or polymer based
resins.

Our Porch Wicker is a commercial grade construction made with all natural materials.

Applications

Wicker can be used indoors, on covered porches, and in fully exposed
outdoor applications.  Covered porch applications include porches covered
from direct sun but exposed to rain spray.  Total outdoor applications require
a resin-based material.

Our Porch Wicker has construction and finishes designed for indoor and
covered porch applications. Occasional weather is fine, as long as the
furniture is not directly exposed to the sun and rain. Product will still
naturally weather outdoors, including frame colors, and binding. This is a
normal outcome of using natural furniture in outdoor environments.
Frame Colors

All frames are available in the standard colors of coffee and white.  Frames are also available with a
painted finish for an up-charge.  Selected pieces are available in a premium weathered gray wicker,
which is created on our natural materials with a combination of distressing and washes.
Weathered gray is not a finish. The actual raw material is naturally processed for a
distressed/grayed/weathered appearance. By nature, every piece will have variations, and there will
be variations within each item. This natural variation is what gives each item its rustic beauty and
character. Don’t expect coloration to match from piece to piece.

Cushions

Our Porch Wicker cushion are made of high density, high resiliency
polyurethane core covered by a Dacron fiber wrap.
 They are designed to
provide a soft feel but will not break down from heavy usage.
The seat
cushion is supported with a web deck for comfort.

Fabrics

A wide variety of fabrics are available for covering our cushions.  All loose
cushions come with a zipper to allow the cushion covers to be removed for
cleaning.  Outdoor fabrics are more resistant to fading, weather and
mildew than cotton materials.
Frame Warranty

All of our porch wicker frames are guaranteed against manufacturer's defects for the life of the
product
, when used in a non-commerical,  residential environment. Wear & tear and natural weathering
are not covered by warranty. All items weather. Colors will change. Paint colors will fade with time and
will wear, especially when used under cover outdoors. Bindings may change color and will weather as
well. We cannot guarantee fabrics or cushions, as fading, mildew, and wear are not necessarily
guaranteed by fabric mills or by foam suppliers.
COM

In addition to the fabrics we offer we can supply COM (customer’s own material) cushion covers based on
our standard (A) price level.  Please contact us for required yardages.
All  COM yardages are based on 27” repeats.
