room layouts and co-ordinating fabric, paint and rug packages compiled by our in-house expert designers.

To assist our clients in achieving optimum decorating results, we
supply a range of design services to help select and apply our products
to solve specific problems, to co-ordinate multiple rooms or to manage
complete projects. We offer our design services in our store or through
Most of our furniture is made-to-order and is available in custom sizes
and configurations. Using the product information on our website,
we are able to modify and re-design our products to satisfy almost
any requirement by telephone or in our store. Confirming drawings
can be e-mailed or faxed. We have developed specific application
- Sizing and configuring dining tables – length, width, height,
shape, base design
- Designing tables for use with banquettes and window seats
- Mixing and matching table, buffet, hutch and cabinet designs
from different collections
- Sizing and modifying design on entertainment centers
- Changing headboard, footboard and mattress heights on any bed
Paint & Stain Colors
We have all the popular paint and stain decks to use with our fabric,
rug and finish samples to help guide product color selections. Actual
samples are always sent out to confirm final selections. If color
samples are required before order placement, please see Paint & Stain
Samples for more information.
We also offer custom paint and stain colors for any of our furniture. We usually use Sherwin Williams, Benjamin
Moore or Minwax as references for selecting a custom color. We can also “match” colors from specific samples
provided to us. Since woods and finishing techniques vary from different suppliers, the final color and finish will vary
slightly and will not be identical.
Custom colors normally will cost $100 - $200 per color and will include a custom color sample for final approval.
We also provide recommendations on our product colors if existing color and fabric samples are brought to our store
or mailed to us. Overall color plans for a room or multiple rooms can be supplied as part of a design project.
Fabrics & Rugs
Fabric and rug samples are available on request by telephone or

We can help in selecting fabric options if paint colors, rug samples or
other fabric samples are brought to our store or mailed to us.
Also, to assist in selecting fabrics, we provide a guide of fabric
coordinates for all of our fabric collections. See fabric coordinates for

Using our rugs, fabrics, and colors we can supply a complete
custom color package for the furnishings in a room. The best way to
develop a successful color package is to select a target rug or fabric
and then build the color options around the target selection. Once a
target is selected, we will e-mail rug, fabric, and color options to the
client for review and consideration. After color plan selections are
made, a complete sample package will be sent for final approval. We
require a $100 pre-deposit per target rug or fabric for a custom
color package. The pre-deposit will be applied to your furnishing
orders. We can develop custom color packages in our store or through
the Internet using our website and e-mail.
We will soon be offering a series of pre-selected Cottage Home Color
Packages on our website, based on popular rugs and fabrics which can
be used for ideas and room solutions. We will be adding and updating
to our Cottage Home Color Packages quarterly.
We can provide a full furnishing design plan for a single room, multiple rooms or a home to cover layout, fabrics, rugs,
colors, and furniture selections. The most cost effective way to supply a furnishing plan is for the client to provide full
room dimensions and photos. We will then develop layout, rug, fabric, and color options for an initial design meeting
or telephone meeting. Based on our design meeting, and potentially one revised design meeting, a specific
furnishing proposal is developed for final approval and implementation. Furnishing plans can be developed in our
store or through the Internet.
We request a pre-deposit of $500 per room or activity center for a furnishing plan. The pre-deposit will be applied
to your furnishing orders. Furnishing plans do not specifically include lamp or accessory selections, but we can
make suggestions if requested. We can also make recommendations on wall colors.
We have the capacity to manage full design projects. In addition to
furnishing plans, this would include on-site measurements, multiple
room color plans, window treatments, lighting selections, floor color
selections, and installation management. We can handle any project
location in the United States. Design fees for a full design project will
be quoted based on the scope of the project and location.
Long Distance Design Services
We have been successfully supplying design services to our clients
for almost 9 years in both our store and through our website.
Specifically, we have been developing the skills to provide cost
effective long distance design, including:
- We have developed our website to allow clients to plan their
purchases, as we list all the dimensions, options, fabrics,
finishes, and costs for each of our products.
- We maintain a full inventory of samples we can ship in a timely
- We have touched and physically worked with all of the products
on our website. We have verified the quality, finish, comfort,
and feel of everything we offer. We sit in all dining chairs,
sofas, slipcovered chairs, and wicker chairs to ensure
- The main difference in a long range project and a local project is
that the client needs to supply room dimensions and photos.
With the use of e-mail and telephone meetings, all other aspects
are similar to local projects.
- If a visit to our store is possible and we have time to do some
preliminary work prior to a visit, we can establish a furnishing
plan for up to an 8 room house in 1 day, and then use e-mails
and the telephone for confirmations and approvals.
- We have developed full capability to ship any of our products to any location in the US and Canada.
- For larger projects we also have access to full service warehouses, which can be used to consolidate multiple
shipments in one location and to co-ordinate single installation deliveries anywhere in the US.
